Third Consideration: Ordinance amending Schedule XVII of Chapter 10.96 entitled "No Stopping, Standing or Parking" by adding 54th Street along the south side from Pine Street west 550 feet between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days. [Ward 2]

Adopt the Ordinance.

The Davenport Police Department has been working with Truman Elementary School staff regarding congestion and safety issues related to drivers parking along both sides of 54th Street west of Pine Street. The school’s driveway exits onto 54th Street and it is unsafe when students walk across the street to their ride waiting along the south side of the street. There are no residences along the south side of the street in this new zone. Parking will remain intact along the north side of the street.   

The Davenport Police Department and the Davenport Community School District are requesting that this area be signed as “No Stopping, Standing, or Parking 7:00 a.m. to 400 p.m. on School Days” in order to prevent drivers from waiting in their parked vehicles along the south side of 54th Street.
