Resolution approving the purchase of closed circuit televising cameras and crawlers for sewer televising from Macqueen Equipment LLC of Ankeny, Iowa in the amount of $325,311 using State of Minnesota contract #S-986(5), CIP #35058. [All Wards]

The State of Minnesota Department of Administrative Services issued a bid for Equipment for Sewer and Pipeline Inspection. Macqueen Equipment LLC of Ankeny, Iowa was awarded the contract for the purchase of closed circuit televising cameras and crawlers for sewer televising. The City of Davenport is authorized to make purchases using this bid.

These systems are critical to making pipe assessments and identifying defective lines. The current cameras and crawlers are nearing the end of functional life. Repairs on these are frequent and expensive. New equipment requiring fewer repairs will be more cost effective. The City was able to trade in its 2013 Envirosight camera system for a credit of $25,000.

Funding for this purchase is from CIP #30058 for Street Improvements. These funds are from the sale of General Obligation Bonds.
