Background:
An Invitation to Bid was issued on June 30, 2022 and sent to contractors. On July 25, 2022, the Purchasing Division opened and read six (6) bids. See bid tab attached.
This project rehabilitates multiple sealcoat road locations by excavating/backfilling areas that fail a proof roll test conducted by the contractor, followed by hot mix asphalt (HMA) leveling and overlay.
Staff bid several roads as alternates to ensure all funding was used. The most critical roads that can be done with the $600,000 allotted in the CIP will be completed.
CDMI Concrete Contractors Inc of Port Byron, Illinois was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. This contract will be for a not-to-exceed amount of $600,000.
Funding for this program is within CIP #35054 Neighborhood Street Repair. These funds are from the sale of General Obligation Bonds.
