Background:
An Invitation to Bid was issued on June 28, 2022 and sent to 653 contractors. On July 25, 2022, the Purchasing Division opened and read three (3) responsive and responsible bids. See attached bid tab.
Legacy Corporation of East Moline, Illinois was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
This project will remove and replace the existing deteriorated retaining wall in the alley behind 510 West 6th Street. The alley is currently closed due to the condition of the wall. This wall lies within the Hamburg Local Landmark Historic District and as such has been reviewed by the Historic Preservation Committee (HPC). The specified wall blocks resemble the original material as close as is possible and have been approved by the HPC. The existing wall material will be salvaged as much as possible for future use. Construction will be completed during the fall of 2022.
Funding for this project is from CIP #28031 Retaining Wall Repair Program.
